Richmond will miss Jack Graham for at least a month after he suffered a quad injury during Tuesday night’s practice match against Collingwood, requiring attention from the trainers.
Graham left the field in the final minutes of his team’s loss at Ikon Park, initially suspected to be experiencing cramps. With Tom Lynch already sidelined due to a foot injury, and doubts surrounding captain Toby Nankervis’ foot issue, Graham adds to Richmond’s injury woes at the start of the season.
The club confirmed on Wednesday that Graham will be sidelined for up to five weeks due to a moderate quad strain sustained in the Charity Shield match.
In Collingwood’s camp, concerns arose regarding Bobby Hill’s hamstring and Tom Mitchell’s ankle during the practice match. However, the Magpies have reassured that both players are unlikely to miss their upcoming game against GWS next Saturday.

Nathan Kreuger, Collingwood’s fringe forward, also suffered a suspected hamstring injury during the VFL match against Richmond, adding to the team’s injury concerns.
Despite the setbacks, players like Ash Johnson and Reef McInnes are vying for a spot in the lineup alongside Brody Mihocek for the Opening Round.
Collingwood showcased a strong performance against Richmond, with standout displays from Patrick Lipinski, Jordan De Goey, and Nick Daicos. Richmond’s notable performers included Jayden Short, Thomson Dow, and Tim Taranto.
Looking ahead, Collingwood is set to face GWS in a preliminary final rematch next Saturday, while Richmond will take on the Suns at Heritage Bank Stadium on the same day.
