Craig Roh, a former University of Michigan player, passed away at the age of 33 due to stage 4 colon cancer.

Former University of Michigan college football standout Craig Roh passed away on February 26 at the age of 33 after an 18-month battle with colon cancer, as announced by his wife, Chelsea Roh, on X (formerly Twitter). Chelsea shared that Craig had not been very public about his struggle, and she expressed that “God brought Craig home.”

In August 2022, doctors diagnosed Craig Roh with stage 4 colon cancer, as shared in a GoFundMe campaign by his wife, Chelsea Roh. The fundraising effort aimed to support Chelsea and their son, Max, in covering medical expenses and Max’s school costs.

Despite his illness, Craig chose not to publicize his diagnosis and fight, preferring to keep the focus off himself. The GoFundMe mentioned that Craig underwent various treatments, including chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and participation in clinical trials at MD Anderson and in Honduras, showing resilience throughout his battle.

It’s worth noting that colon cancer is becoming increasingly prevalent in young individuals, with a recent report from the American Cancer Society identifying it as the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among men under 50.
