Breaking News: The Miami Heat have signed an experienced veteran guard…
It’s been reported that the Miami Heat are anticipated to add veteran guard Patty Mills to their roster. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski suggests that the Heat are preparing for a late-season acquisition. Miami has faced depth issues at the point guard position following Kyle Lowry’s departure during the trade deadline.
Terry Rozier, acquired in the Lowry trade, stands as the sole true point guard on the team. Additionally, combo guard Tyler Herro has been sidelined due to a knee injury, leaving a gap in the lineup. Mills brings valuable playoff experience to the Heat.
Mills boasts an impressive playoff resume, having participated in 95 postseason games throughout his career with the Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs, and Brooklyn Nets. Notably, he served as a guard for the Spurs during their NBA Finals matchups against the Heat in both 2013 and 2014.
Mills most recently suited up for the Atlanta Hawks. With the Miami Heat losing point guard Dru Smith for the season earlier this year, the decision to sign Mills was straightforward. The Heat will resume play on Tuesday night against the Detroit Pistons at Kaseya Center.
