One of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats‘ focal points this offseason has been enhancing the performance of their offensive and defensive lines. In December 2023, the Tiger-Cats showed their commitment to bolstering the offensive line unit by extending Brandon Revenberg’s contract and re-signing Coulter Woodmansey. Today, as indicated by the CFL Transactions list, the Tiger-Cats took further steps to fortify their offensive line by signing American offensive lineman Quinton Barrow.
Quinton Barrow, hailing from Romulus, Michigan, stands at 6’6″ and weighs 331 pounds. He played college football at NCAA Division II Grand Valley State University from 2018 to 2022. As per the Grand Valley State website, Barrow garnered experience by starting 36 games at left tackle for the Lakers.
Emerging from Grand Valley State, Barrow was viewed as an undersized offensive line prospect in the 2023 NFL Draft, with NFL scouting reports highlighting his proficiency as a run blocker. Despite going undrafted, Barrow was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent. Subsequently, in 2023, he was drafted by the Birmingham Stallions in the second round of the USFL draft.
Barrow joins a Tiger-Cats offensive line unit that head coach Scott Milanovich aims to develop into a well-rounded and balanced group. Hailing from Michigan, Barrow is poised to compete for a potential starting role during training camp, particularly as a right tackle, and he could play a significant role in bolstering the Hamilton offensive line. Offensively, the Tiger-Cats will rely on effective running plays with running back James Butler and will need to ensure the protection of veteran CFL quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell to enhance their offensive efficiency compared to the 2023 season.
