Chicago Blackhawks set to lose a player to The Nashville Predator.

Multiple reports indicate that the Nashville Predators have traded for winger Anthony Beauvillier from the Chicago Blackhawks. Beauvillier, 26, has recorded four goals and 14 points in 45 games split between the Blackhawks and Vancouver Canucks this season. He is set to become an unrestricted free agent with a $4.15 million cap hit. The trade details, as reported by Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli, include the Blackhawks receiving a fifth-round selection in the 2024 NHL Draft in exchange for Beauvillier. Additionally, The Athletic’s Scott Powers confirmed that the Blackhawks did not retain any of Beauvillier’s remaining cap hit in the deal.

Beauvillier was originally acquired by the Blackhawks in November 2023, with Chicago sending a 2024 fifth-round pick to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for the winger. This trade with Nashville allowed the Blackhawks to recoup their initial investment. Beauvillier arrived in Vancouver midway through the 2022-23 season as part of the Bo Horvat trade with the New York Islanders. During his time with the Canucks, Beauvillier appeared in 55 games over two seasons, tallying 11 goals and 28 points.

The Quebec-born winger was selected by the Islanders in the first round (No. 28 overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft. He spent the first seven seasons of his career on Long Island, with his best season coming in 2019-20 when he recorded 18 goals and 39 points in 68 games.

The Predators, currently in a playoff push, are looking to bolster their forward lineup. They currently hold fourth place in the Central Division and the second wild card spot in the Western Conference with a 35-25-3 record and 73 points in 63 games this season.

Beauvillier has amassed 115 goals and 243 points in 535 career NHL games over parts of eight seasons with the Islanders, Canucks, and Blackhawks. He has also contributed 15 goals and 29 points in 49 career playoff games.
