NHL team, the Montreal Canadiens, have announced the acquisition of a new forward.
Montreal announced on Thursday that they’ve traded center Jan Mysak to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for forward Jacob Perreault. Perreault, a native of Montreal, has showcased his skills with seven goals and 11 assists in 31 games for the San Diego Gulls in the AHL this season.
Over his AHL career spanning 161 appearances, he’s accumulated 91 points, comprising 32 goals and 59 assists. The 21-year-old right-winger also made a single NHL appearance with the Ducks on January 8, 2022, against the New York Rangers.
He’s the son of former NHL player Yanic Perreault and was selected by the Ducks in the first round (27th overall) of the 2020 NHL draft.
Mysak, drafted by Montreal in the second round (48th overall) in 2020, has demonstrated his skills with 13 goals and seven assists in 48 games for the AHL’s Laval Rocket this season.
