Hawthorn wingman joins a community club.

Former Hawthorn and Collingwood midfielder Tom Phillips has signed with the Wodonga Raiders in the Ovens & Murray Football Netball League for the 2024 season.

Phillips, who last played in the AFL in 2022 with Hawthorn, will divide his time between the local club and his commitments with Carlton’s VFL team this year. The 27-year-old spent two seasons at Waverley before being delisted, then moved to the VFL to play with Essendon’s reserves.

Phillips began his AFL career with Collingwood and played in the 2018 Grand Final before joining Hawthorn. In addition to joining Wodonga Raiders, Phillips will also play for Carlton’s VFL team in the upcoming season.

“Tom Phillips, who played in the 2018 Grand Final with Collingwood and is aligned with Carlton VFL, has chosen the Wodonga Raiders as his home club. He also played for Hawthorn.

Tom will join us when he is free from VFL commitments, bringing invaluable midfield experience to our young group.
