Joseph Manu could potentially shift to five-eighth, with Billy Smith taking his spot in the centres. Sandon Smith is also an option in the halves.

Meanwhile, new Roosters recruit Dom Young expressed relief at being able to play an NRL game after facing serious health issues in the preseason. Young missed the series against Tonga due to a sinus infection that spread to his brain and was hospitalized in a neck brace following a crusher tackle in his first preseason game for the Roosters.

Young reflected on the challenging time, saying, “I spent a lot of time in hospital fighting this infection, so it was a pretty tough time because I was in hospital for a few weeks and was ruled out for England. It was nice to have my family there back home where I felt comfortable.” He added, “Luckily, I feel good now and I’ve put that behind me, but it was a scare at the time.”

Despite the setbacks, Young remains positive, acknowledging the risks of playing rugby league. He harbors no resentment toward Toff Sipley of Manly for the crusher tackle incident, understanding the inherent dangers of the sport. Young emphasized his current well-being, stating, “I’m good now, and that’s the main thing.”
