Hamilton addresses his F1 appeal in the midst of off-track controversies.

Off-track issues have plagued Formula 1, dimming the excitement of the on-track action at the beginning of the 2024 season,

In spite of his worries over several off-track incidents, Lewis Hamilton has emphasized the aspects of Formula 1 that he still finds appealing.

Since the beginning of the year, claims made by a team member against Red Bull team principal Christian Horner have dominated F1 news.

After being questioned by an outside attorney, Horner was exonerated, but things became worse when images purportedly showing exchanges between Horner and his accuser were released.

Then, Red Bull’s top driver Max’s father, Jos Verstappen, implied that if Horner continued in his role, the team would be “torn apart.”

In the midst of the Red Bull fiasco, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the president of the Formula One Association, was also under investigation for reportedly trying to rig the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in 2023 and working to prevent the Las Vegas Strip Circuit from receiving certification.

Hamilton has explained in clearly the need for transparency in the sport moving ahead.

speaking with the media Hamilton noted that, “The sport has grown in so many ways,”
“We’ve seen and welcomed in a lot more places than we’ve ever been, which has, in my opinion, been beneficial.

It’s critical to adhere to the basic principles. Integrity, openness, and trust are key components of such procedures.

“We need the trust of our fans.” They must have faith in the sport.

Hamilton admits his affection for Formula One.

The off-track disputes that have drawn a lot of attention, according to Hamilton, are “not the part of the sport that I love.”

Hamilton said, “The thing I love about the sport is the team element,” when asked to list the aspects of it for which he still has affinity.

“Everyone is striving to be the best version of themselves, and there is competition.”

“It’s the competition, it’s everyone working to be the best they can be.

“It’s everyone within a team rowing in the same direction, and chasing something that’s almost unattainable, which is perfection, innovation and winning the world championship. It’s such an incredible thing.

“Then close battles. That’s what you want to see more of within our sport.

“We’ve had the Schumacher dominance, you had my era of dominance, it happens all the time. And I think we can’t take anything away from Red Bull. They’ve done such an amazing job.

“I mean, all of what they’ve done as a team, I think it’s really great. They really raised the bar so high, so we’re all striving to get to that.

“It would be great if we were all having a closer battle, but I think that’s what’s being worked on.”
