The GIANTS are extending an invitation to all young girls aged between under 12 and under 15 to participate in their special event called ‘Girls Night In’. This event promises a fun-filled football clinic led by specialist coaches and featuring the presence of GIANTS AFL and AFLW players.
Scheduled for Wednesday, March 27, at Blacktown International Sportspark from 5:15 pm to 6:30 pm, and with the support of AFL NSW/ACT, the GIANTS eagerly welcome girls of varying experience levels and abilities to join in the celebration and enjoyment of Australian Rules football.
Under the guidance of GIANTS Female Academy head coach, Georgia Walker, the event guarantees an enjoyable evening of football, including an energetic and inclusive skills session for the girls. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to meet and interact with GIANTS AFL and AFLW players.
This ‘come and try’ event is open to all girls born in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012.
Encouraging participation from girls of diverse backgrounds, GIANTS Head of Academies, Jason Saddington, emphasized the inclusivity of the event, welcoming both current players and non-players alike.
“We invite all girls aged under 12 to under 15, regardless of their experience or skill level, to join us for what promises to be an enjoyable evening. Feel free to bring a friend along for what will be a fantastic experience,” he expressed.
Saddington highlighted the event’s aim to foster junior female participation in Western Sydney and expressed hope that it would inspire new young females to engage in football and potentially join local community football clubs.
