32-Year-Old Star Reveals Secret Behind Benji’s Serene Tigers Transformation Amidst New Standards

Wests Tigers halfback Aidan Sezer has shed light on Benji Marshall’s strategy for rejuvenating the club following consecutive wooden spoons.

The Tigers, fresh off a resounding 32-6 victory over the Sharks, have witnessed Marshall secure his inaugural win as an NRL coach. Despite this triumph, Sezer insists the team is determined to maintain momentum and sees their recent success as a blueprint for the rest of the 2024 season.

Aidan Sezer believes the Tigers are creating a new culture.

“It was important to secure that initial win early in the season,” Sezer shared with SEN 1170 Breakfast. “We’ve struggled at the beginning of previous seasons to notch those early wins, so establishing this platform and standard for the rest of the year is crucial. We’ve kept our game plan quite straightforward.”

He added, “Returning to Leichhardt Oval was a special moment for us, and it’s an occasion I’ll always remember.”

Reflecting on their Round 1 loss to the Raiders, Sezer revealed Marshall and the team were dissatisfied with their performance. However, rather than resorting to harsh criticism, Sezer commends Marshall for simplifying the team’s roles, thereby enabling each player to maximize their potential.

“Our review after the first game wasn’t pretty, and we let ourselves down against Canberra,” Sezer admitted. “But Benji has always had a laid-back approach, and his instructions are clear and concise.”

“As a team, we now take the field with a clear sense of direction,” he continued. “Benji has been fantastic, and we’re all on the same page in terms of our expectations and objectives.”

The Tigers aim to secure consecutive victories for the first time since last season’s Rounds 9 and 10 when they face Parramatta at CommBank Stadium on Easter Monday.
