Breaking News: Board Members of Sydney Roosters Resign…

The Easts Group | Sydney Roosters has officially announced the resignation of Peter Newton from his position as Director on both Boards.

During his impressive 23-year tenure, Mr. Newton played a pivotal role in driving the Club’s success. Notably, he chaired the highly successful 2023 Hall of Fame event for the Sydney Roosters and was instrumental in establishing the Club’s Foundation and Heritage Committees.

 

Expressing his gratitude, Mr. Newton stated, “It has been a privilege to serve on the Boards of Easts Group and Sydney Roosters for the past 23 years. I take immense pride in our collective achievements and look forward to continuing my involvement through chairing the Sydney Roosters Foundation and Heritage Committees.”

Chairman of Easts Group | Sydney Roosters, Mr. Nick Politis AM, extended his appreciation for Mr. Newton’s significant contributions, emphasizing his business acumen and dedication to the Club’s best interests.

Following Mr. Newton’s departure, Mr. Andrew Jolliffe will join both Boards immediately. With over three decades of experience in leading prominent hospitality and gaming property businesses, Mr. Jolliffe’s appointment is seen as a valuable addition to the Boards.

Mr. Politis welcomed Mr. Jolliffe, highlighting his expertise in the hospitality sector, which will enhance the Boards’ oversight of Licensed Clubs operations. Additionally, Mr. Jolliffe’s commitment to nurturing junior league players and advancing Pathway Programs aligns closely with the Club’s vision for sustained success.

Mr. Jolliffe, a founding director of The Sydney Roosters Foundation, will continue in this role alongside his new position on the Boards.
