Edmonton Oilers Extend Goaltender Olivier Rodrigue’s Contract Through 2024-25 Season
The Edmonton Oilers have announced a one-year, two-way contract extension for goaltender Olivier Rodrigue, extending his contract through the 2024-25 season. With potential to become an NHL starter, Rodrigue’s future with the Oilers could see him playing a significant role as early as next season, as he has been sharing goaltending duties with Jack Campbell during the current season.
Rodrigue, 23, has demonstrated his capabilities in 32 games for the Bakersfield Condors this season, achieving a notable 17-10-4 record along with a 2.72 goals-against average and an impressive .915 save percentage. His 17 wins this season mark a personal best for him.

Selected by the Oilers in the second round (62nd overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft, Rodrigue has accumulated 85 AHL appearances over four seasons, posting a record of 41-34-8, with a 2.83 GAA and a .908 save percentage.
While Stuart Skinner is already confirmed for next season, uncertainty surrounds the future of Jack Campbell and Calvin Pickard, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent. The Oilers may consider re-signing Pickard based on his performance this season, especially depending on his playoff performance. However, if Pickard attracts interest from other teams, the Oilers may opt to give Rodrigue a longer opportunity to prove himself.
