Despite being off on Saturday, the Canucks (45-20-8) clinched their playoff berth as the Vegas Golden Knights narrowly defeated the Minnesota Wild 2-1 in overtime, and the struggling San Jose Sharks surprisingly won 4-0 against the St. Louis Blues.
Vancouver’s last postseason appearance was during the COVID-shortened 2019-20 season, where they advanced through qualification in the Edmonton bubble, defeated the Blues in the first round, but were eliminated by the Golden Knights in a seven-game second-round series.
The Canucks haven’t hosted a playoff game since 2015 when they faced the Calgary Flames in a first-round matchup.
