A dynamic 1,300-yard wide receiver is visiting the Kansas City Chiefs for free agency.
On Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs will host former Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins for a free agency visit in an attempt to add explosive talent to their backfield in addition to quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Throughout his career, Dobbins has struggled with serious injuries. In week 1 of 2023, he suffered a torn Achilles tendon, which kept him out of the game for the rest of the season. This happened just two years after he missed the 2021 season due to an ACL tear sustained during training camp.
Upon being selected out of Ohio State in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Dobbins has played in 24 games and amassed 1,347 yards of rushing experience with 12 touchdowns, averaging 5.8 yards per carry.
Dobbins is the kind of adaptive weapon who can flourish in the Chiefs’ scheme if he stays healthy and on the field; after all, he has caught 27 passes for 177 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in his career.
With the chance to start over in a system that relies heavily on employing running backs out of the backfield as receivers and an offense led by playmakers Travis Kelce and Marquise “Hollywood Brown,” Dobbins might be able to start producing big plays right away after joining Kansas City.
With his skill level, Dobbins might be a valuable addition to Isaiah Pacheco in the backfield for the Kansas City Chiefs.
