Breaking News: Essendon Faces Loss of Another Crucial 26-Year-Old Player…

Midfielder Will Setterfield is in contention to play against the Power on Friday night. The 26-year-old was a late withdrawal from last week’s match against the Saints due to knee soreness but appears to have recovered well and participated fully in main training on Tuesday morning.

However, Sam Durham will miss Friday night’s game due to a concussion sustained during the Bombers’ narrow win over St Kilda. Although Durham is progressing well in his recovery, the club anticipates his return for the following week’s clash against the Western Bulldogs in round five.

Defender Jordan Ridley remains sidelined as he works towards recovering from a quad injury sustained just before the season commenced.

On a positive note, Dylan Shiel is expected to return to play next week after making good progress in his rehabilitation from an oblique strain, while Tex Wanganeen is also on track for a comeback from a navicular injury, having resumed full training over the past few weeks.

Despite an early setback, young forward Nate Caddy is expected to be available for selection this week after undergoing dental surgery to reattach a tooth following an accidental collision during the Dons’ VFL game against Sandringham on Sunday.
