The Florida Gators might just flip Auburn commit Tavaris Dice.

Fairburn (GA) Langston Hughes four-star offensive tackle Tavaris Dice committed to the Auburn Tigers about a month ago, following a pair of visits to their campus in January.

Throughout his recruitment, Auburn had been the frontrunner, with the Florida Gators seen as their biggest competition. The Gators’ coaching staff had managed to bring Dice to their campus several times since offering him last year.

Despite his commitment to Auburn, Dice visited the University of Florida’s campus last week, staying from Thursday to Saturday. This extended visit provided him with more time to immerse himself in the program and get to know the coaches. On Friday, Dice had the opportunity to shadow one of Florida’s current players, giving him a glimpse into the daily life of a Gator football player. While there were many highlights during his visit, Dice found this experience particularly beneficial.

“Being with the players and seeing their everyday schedules was a good experience. That was a key thing for last weekend. I was with Caden Jones, and he was good to hang around. After being hurt last season he told me important parts about the program, and about how it’s been since he’s been there.”
