Richmond has confirmed the debut of a new player for the upcoming Gather Round clash.

Richmond is set to introduce local midfielder Kane McAuliffe in Sunday’s highly anticipated Gather Round clash against St Kilda. Hailing from North Adelaide, McAuliffe has quickly made his mark with the Tigers’ VFL squad, boasting impressive statistics in his inaugural season at Punt Road. Averaging 30.5 disposals, 15.5 contested possessions, seven clearances, 6.5 inside-50s, and 6.5 tackles per game over his first two appearances, McAuliffe’s dynamic style promises to bolster Richmond’s midfield.

Selected as the 40th overall pick in last year’s National Draft, McAuliffe emerged as one of South Australia’s top prospects. Tigers VFL coach Steve Morris commended McAuliffe’s stellar form, highlighting his dominant performance and relentless work ethic on the field. McAuliffe’s debut adds depth to Richmond’s midfield lineup, complementing the anticipated returns of Jack Graham and Dustin Martin from injury.

Additionally, Richmond considers forward Jacob Koschitzke, ruckman Sam Naismith, and defender Hugo Ralphsmith as potential inclusions for the upcoming clash. The final squad will be announced at 5:00 pm (AEDT) on Friday. However, the team will be without key players Liam Baker (suspension), Tom Lynch (injured), and Noah Balta (injured), who were instrumental in the Tigers’ victory over Sydney last Sunday.
