While he directly mentioned offensive coordinator Derrick Nix and defensive coordinator DJ Durkin, King omitted co-defensive coordinator Charles Kelly from his analysis of the new coaching staff’s impact on the roster.
In his discussion, King highlighted the importance of the spring for the Tigers to implement new systems under the guidance of the coordinators, who are making their initial impressions on the players and the Auburn program. However, King emphasized that head coach Freeze is equally concerned about the team’s energy level and motivation throughout the spring.
