Yze acknowledged that while his team has displayed commendable effort throughout the season, including in the recent loss, the difference in the match came down to execution. He pointed out the disparity in scoring during pivotal periods, particularly in the third quarter when St Kilda gained momentum and capitalized with 6.6, compared to Richmond’s 2.3 when they had their own momentum in the final quarter.
With key forwards Tom Lynch and Noah Balta sidelined due to injuries, Yze emphasized the contributions of players like Jacob Koschitzke, who returned to the side and made a meaningful impact despite the challenging circumstances. Yze praised Koschitzke’s dedication and noted the ongoing development of young players like Mykelti Lefau, emphasizing the need for patience as the team’s forward line continues to gel and develop synergy.
