According to Brice Marich of 247 Sports, Michigan is preparing to host Elijah Melendez, a Miami commit, for a three-day unofficial visit.

Melendez had previously visited Michigan in November, witnessing their impressive victory over Ohio State. Despite his commitment to Miami since December and the closer proximity to home, Melendez has been intrigued by Michigan’s program.

Having the opportunity to visit again with a full coaching staff present is expected to further sway his decision.

Standing at 6-2 and weighing 225 pounds, Melendez is recognized as a versatile linebacker with an ideal blend of size and speed. While he excels as a physical tackler, he also possesses the agility to cover ground sideline to sideline.

Should Michigan successfully recruit him away from Miami, it would signify a significant achievement for the program, particularly in recruiting under the leadership of new head coach Sherrone Moore.
