The Cleveland Browns reportedly considering a trade that would bring in a running back who gained 1,700 yards.

The Browns are considering adding a veteran running back to complement Jerome Ford, especially with concerns about Nick Chubb’s return to form after undergoing ACL surgeries.

With pressure to narrow the gap with the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC North, Cleveland may prioritize acquiring veteran talent to support quarterback Deshaun Watson before the NFL Draft. Following the Bears’ signing of D’Andre Swift in free agency, Herbert has become available for trade.

Last season, Herbert recorded 611 rushing yards and two touchdowns, accumulating 1,775 rushing yards in his NFL career’s first 42 games. In Cleveland, the upcoming 2024 season holds significance for both Watson and head coach Kevin Stefanski, making the addition of talented offensive players a priority.

Chubb’s return to top form is uncertain, underscoring the Browns’ need for quality depth in the backfield alongside Ford, D’Onta Foreman, and Nyheim Hines.
