Nate Robinson, a former NBA player with an 11-year career, recently revealed lingering animosity towards Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers. During an episode of “The OGs” podcast hosted by Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller, Robinson disclosed how Rivers’ actions cost him a substantial amount of money.
In his conversation, Robinson recounted a clause in his contract that promised him a bonus of around $2 million if he played a certain number of games. However, Rivers sidelined him with a “Did Not Play” (DNP) designation in a crucial game, preventing him from meeting the required threshold for the bonus.
Robinson’s grievance stemmed from his time with the Boston Celtics after being traded from the New York Knicks in 2010. Despite playing in the final four games of the regular season, Robinson missed out on the incentive due to strategic benching by Rivers.

Analyzing the situation, Robinson’s trade from the Knicks to the Celtics occurred mid-season, leaving him with fewer games to meet the required quota for the bonus. Rivers’ decision to bench him for the initial games after the trade limited Robinson’s opportunities, ultimately resulting in him falling short of the required number of games for the bonus.
