Lefau sparks enthusiasm within the Tiger Army…

Mykelti Lefau injected a dose of positivity for Richmond supporters despite the disappointment of yesterday’s 39-point loss to West Coast at Optus Stadium. The robust 25-year-old, recruited during the AFL pre-season supplementary selection period this year, delivered an impressive performance in the team’s forward line.

In what marked only his fourth appearance at the elite level, Lefau showcased his prowess with 12 disposals, eight marks (including a team-high six grabs inside Richmond’s forward-50 area), six score involvements, five tackles, 325 metres gained, and three goals, earning him the Round 5 Latitude Player of the Match award.

Richmond coach Adem Yze expressed his admiration for Lefau during his post-match press conference, stating, “He’s in his third or fourth game and he looked like an AFL forward today. He’s still learning the game, and, to be fair, they’ve (West Coast) got two quality key defenders that he was on (Tom Barrass and Jeremy McGovern), and he held his own.”
