Tigers are well-prepared to confront the tackles.

Penrith is cautious of another potential upset from the revitalized Wests Tigers under Benji Marshall, especially as they await updates on Nathan Cleary’s hamstring injury following their unexpected loss to Manly before the bye round.

Adding to Penrith’s motivation is their desire to rectify their defeat on the Bathurst turf last year, where they were stunned by the Tigers in adverse weather conditions.

Fullback Dylan Edwards acknowledged the Tigers’ improved performance this season, highlighting their resilience and unity on the field. Despite their previous record, the Tigers, under Marshall, have shown a 2-3 record in 2024, presenting a renewed challenge for Penrith.

Centre Izack Tago emphasized the threat posed by Api Koroisau’s playmaking abilities, urging his teammates to remain vigilant against the Tigers’ attacking prowess.

Amid concerns over Cleary’s injury, Penrith players are advocating for Sunia Turuva to stay with the club despite offers from other teams, including St. George Illawarra. Tago, in particular, expressed his desire for Turuva to remain at Penrith, highlighting the positive impact he has had on the team both on and off the field.
