Broussard’s report contradicts the Clippers’ assurances that Leonard will be fit for the playoffs, suggesting a potential setback similar to the 2021 playoffs, where Leonard’s knee injury escalated unexpectedly.
Despite the Clippers’ attempts to downplay concerns, other NBA insiders have confirmed the uncertainty surrounding Leonard’s injury. However, Clippers president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank remains optimistic, attributing Leonard’s absence to inflammation from previous knee surgeries.
Leonard’s absence would be a significant blow to the Clippers, given his pivotal role in previous playoff victories against the Mavericks in 2020 and 2021.
