Sydney Swans Young Star Addresses Future Amid Reported Interest from Rivals

Logan McDonald, the unsigned forward for Sydney, has provided significant insight into his future, offering reassurance to the club and its supporters about his satisfaction with life in Sydney.

Despite being off-contract and reportedly attracting strong interest from clubs in his home state of Western Australia, including Fremantle, McDonald has emphasized his growing attachment to Sydney.

With Fremantle holding three first-round draft selections for the upcoming draft, they may have an opportunity to secure McDonald if he remains without a contract beyond the 2024 season.

McDonald, now in his fourth season with the Swans, expressed that Sydney is “starting to feel like home now,” highlighting his focus on football rather than his future.

“I’m happy here, I’ve made a lot of friends, and coming in every day brings me joy,” McDonald stated during media interactions on Thursday.

McDonald praised the club’s welcoming environment and the support they’ve provided to him and his family, acknowledging their role in his development as a player.

While he leaves contract negotiations to his manager and the club, McDonald’s focus remains on playing his role and contributing to the team’s success.

As for the current list planning, McDonald expressed excitement about the club’s efforts to secure talented players for the future, emphasizing the camaraderie and unity among the team.

Sydney Swans will resume their campaign after Round 5 bye with a match against Gold Coast at the SCG on Sunday at 1:05 pm (AEST).
