The Essendon Football Club is set to take on the Greater Western Sydney Giants in the upcoming Challenge Tackling Childhood Cancer game.

Essendon proudly announces that its 2024 Tackling Childhood Cancer game will be held in round nine against the GIANTS. This annual event, in collaboration with official charity partner Challenge, will take place at Marvel Stadium.

This marks the 21st year of Essendon’s partnership with Challenge, which began in support of 2000 Premiership player and cancer survivor Adam Ramanauskas. The Bombers will display the Challenge logo on the front of their guernsey, along with a yellow armband. Player-issued guernseys will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting Challenge.

In partnership with Challenge and supported by official partner Yakult, Essendon aims to raise funds and awareness to support children and families affected by cancer. Challenge is a not-for-profit organization offering daily support to children and families facing cancer or life-threatening blood disorders.

Leading up to the game, Essendon will host Challenge children to paint selected players’ boots, which will be worn during the match and available for purchase, with all proceeds going to Challenge. These children will also have the opportunity to join the players on the field as they run out for the match against the GIANTS.

Tickets for the round nine clash are on sale, and fans can purchase them through the provided link. For more information about Challenge’s initiatives and how to donate, visit their website.
