West Virginia is aiming to make a significant impact in the transfer portal as they set to battle Auburn to land A top WR.
The transfer portal reopened recently, sparking movement in college football, including at West Virginia. While Coach Neal Brown is confident that most of the team’s key players and promising young talent will stay, there are always some who decide to leave.
West Virginia could make a significant impact if they successfully recruit KeAndre Lambert-Smith, a former standout wide receiver from Penn State who entered the portal on Monday. Lambert-Smith has reportedly been in contact with several schools, including West Virginia, Auburn, Colorado, Georgia, and Texas A&M.
In the 2023 season, Lambert-Smith led Penn State in receptions (53) and receiving yards (673), and he ranked second in touchdowns with four. Against West Virginia in the season opener, he had four receptions for 123 yards and two touchdowns. While Coach Brown is excited about the potential of current players like Jaden Bray, Traylon Ray, Rodney Gallagher III, and Hudson Clement, he believes adding Lambert-Smith would bring valuable experience to the receiving corps.
Lambert-Smith has one season of eligibility remaining, making him an enticing prospect for teams looking to bolster their roster.
