Wests Tigers have initiated discussions with a sidelined key player regarding their future with the club. GO or STAY?

Wests Tigers’ five-eighth Adam Doueihi has confirmed that discussions have begun with Benji Marshall and Shane Richardson regarding his future with the club. Currently sidelined due to an ACL injury sustained last season, Doueihi has been with the Tigers since 2020, making him the second-longest serving player behind Alex Twal.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Doueihi’s future has been uncertain, especially with the emergence of Jahream Bula at fullback and the recruitment of several halves. Despite being free to negotiate with other NRL teams since November 1 last year, there have been no reports linking him to other clubs.

Doueihi expressed his desire to stay at Wests Tigers under the leadership of head coach Benji Marshall. He has begun discussions with Marshall and Richardson to understand their plans for him in the upcoming seasons. While he sees himself primarily as a halves player, he is open to adjusting his role, potentially coming off the bench later in the year to contribute wherever needed.
