The spring transfer window has opened for college football, presenting an opportunity for the Kentucky Wildcats to enhance their roster ahead of the summer.
Reports indicate that the Wildcats are eyeing a running back acquisition this spring, with Oregon State transfer Damien Martinez set to visit the program.
Adding to the running back pursuit, Louisville Cardinals transfer Peny Boone has emerged as a contact for Kentucky, according to a report by Pete Nakos of On3. Boone has also received interest from Tennessee, Ole Miss, Miami, Oklahoma State, Wisconsin, and others. Boone reportedly has a preference for playing in the SEC and is scheduled to visit the Washington Huskies this weekend.

Boone, standing at 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 242 pounds, hails from Detroit and transferred to Louisville from Toledo during the past winter, with Kentucky previously expressing interest in him.
Boone’s availability in the transfer portal elevates him as one of the top running backs on the market. In his last season with the Rockets, he earned recognition as the Offensive Player of the Year for the MAC, amassing 1,400 yards on 194 carries and scoring 15 touchdowns on the ground.
With the addition of Ohio State transfer Chip Trayanum to the running back unit over the winter, Kentucky appears keen on bolstering their backfield with another dynamic player alongside him.
While Martinez remains a primary target, Kentucky’s outreach to Boone suggests their intention to secure another running back addition during the spring or summer transfer period.
