Breaking news: Auburn secures a commitment from highly sought-after defensive lineman.

Auburn entered the spring transfer portal seeking defensive line reinforcements, and they’ve found it in Philip Blidi, a transfer from Indiana. Blidi, a fifth-year senior with one year of eligibility left, announced his commitment to Auburn, citing the opportunity for development and the welcoming community as key factors in his decision.

Blidi, a 6-foot-3, 295-pound lineman, was a target for several schools, including Washington, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Missouri, but ultimately chose Auburn. He began his career at Texas Tech, playing in 34 games over three seasons before transferring to Indiana, where he recorded 30 tackles and four tackles for loss in his lone season.

Ranked by 247Sports as the No. 281 player and No. 27 defensive lineman in the transfer portal, Blidi was impressed by Auburn’s defensive line coach Vontrell King-Williams, who played a significant role in his decision. Blidi highlighted King-Williams’ caring nature and his ability to build relationships with players as key factors in his commitment to Auburn.
