Essendon Injury Update: Key Players Nearing Return as Rehab Progresses

Essendon Football Club is poised to receive a significant boost with several key players nearing their return from injury in the upcoming weeks.

Matt Guelfi is on the brink of a comeback after successfully overcoming a calf strain sustained in round one. His fitness will be assessed this week to determine his availability.

Archie Perkins, recovering well from a hamstring strain incurred during Gather Round, could potentially return to action as early as round eight, pending his progress during training over the next fortnight.

Will Setterfield remains on track for a return in approximately two weeks as he continues to recover from a knee injury. Meanwhile, Jye Menzie (shoulder) and Zach Reid (hamstring) are targeting a return within the next three weeks.

Jordan Ridley is currently undergoing rehabilitation for a reaggravated quad injury and is expected to be sidelined for approximately four more weeks.
