Lyon expresses confidence in the resilient Saints to bounce back from recent setbacks, while Dow is set to make his return through VFL.

Ross Lyon is optimistic about his team’s ability to rebound as they prepare for a Friday night showdown against Port Adelaide in Round 7.

Following a comprehensive defeat to the Western Bulldogs last week, Lyon is adopting a “head up and march on” approach to lead his team forward and prevent them from dwelling on past setbacks.

Despite feeling the sting of their recent loss, Lyon remains confident in the energy and vibrancy of his players. Reflecting on the team’s mood, Lyon remarked, “They’re energetic, they’re vibrant, they feel safe. They were a bit flat… but I think that lifted them.”

Looking ahead to their upcoming match against Port Adelaide, Lyon emphasized the importance of focusing on improvement and learning from past performances. The team has been studying game tapes from earlier in the season to reignite their daring ball movement.

In terms of player updates, Lyon confirmed that Paddy Dow will make his return from injury via the VFL this weekend, along with Matty Allison. Other players, such as Mason Wood, Hunter Clark, and Ben Paton, are also progressing in their recovery.

Despite facing injury challenges, Lyon remains focused on the team’s development and the upcoming match against Port Adelaide, acknowledging the tough challenge of playing away from home but expressing determination to continue building towards success.
