Florida Gators wide receiver Brian Green Jr. was arrested on Monday on a first-degree misdemeanor battery charge related to dating violence. Green, who joined the program as a preferred walk-on in 2023, did not participate in games last season.
As per the report available on the Alachua County Clerk of the Court website, an altercation between Green and his girlfriend turned physical in a parking garage. The victim alleged that Green grabbed her, while the receiver confessed to poking her in the face multiple times when questioned by the arresting officer after being informed of his rights. Surveillance footage from the garage corroborated the victim’s account of Green repeatedly poking her face.
Following the arrest, Green was incarcerated in the Alachua County Jail but was subsequently released on his own recognizance, with a standing no-contact order issued toward the victim as a condition of his release.
Although Green did not compete in games last season, he received recognition from the coaching staff for his efforts during spring training. He also made an appearance in the spring game, catching one pass for 11 yards.
