Adelaide’s dynamic duo of Izak Rankine and seasoned player Taylor Walker spearheaded a commanding performance, securing a 57-point victory over North Melbourne.
Rankine’s electric display saw him netting four goals, including two impressive back-to-back scores in the third quarter. Alongside his scoring prowess, he showcased his versatility with 17 possessions and an assist, earning him recognition as a standout performer.
Walker, displaying both skill and selflessness, contributed two goals and three assists, ensuring the team’s success while involving teammates in scoring opportunities.
Captain Jordan Dawson led by example with a stellar first-half performance, amassing 27 touches, while Rory Laird dominated with a game-high 34 possessions and 13 clearances.
Despite North Melbourne’s efforts, highlighted by Colby McKercher’s impressive 32-possession display and Cam Zurhaar’s three goals, they struggled to contain Adelaide’s defensive pressure, falling behind early and failing to catch up.
While the Kangaroos managed a late surge in the final quarter, Adelaide’s strong lead proved insurmountable, securing their second win of the season.
The victory, however, came at a cost for Adelaide, with young midfielder Luke Pedlar sustaining a shoulder injury early in the match.
With the Crows now focused on their upcoming Showdown clash at Adelaide Oval, North Melbourne faces the challenge of regrouping as they continue their season at the bottom of the ladder.
