“23-Year-Old Linebacker Marks Third Michigan Player to Enter Transfer Portal in One Week”
For the third time since the conclusion of spring practices, another underclassman linebacker from Michigan has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. Rising redshirt freshman Hayden Moore, hailing from Parker, Colorado, joined the portal Tuesday afternoon, following fellow redshirt freshman Semaj Bridgeman’s entry just the day before.
Despite not seeing any game action last season, Moore, a former three-star recruit, initially chose Michigan over other notable programs. His decision adds to a string of departures in the linebacker position for the Wolverines, including transfers and NFL draft selections.
Michigan’s linebacker coaching position has seen significant turnover recently, with several coaches holding the role in a short span. Moore’s entry into the portal adds to a growing list of Wolverines exploring their options elsewhere.
Heading into the 2024 season, Michigan appears to have depth at linebacker, with returning starters and promising newcomers expected to contribute. However, Moore’s departure highlights the ongoing competition within the team, as players vie for playing time and roster spots.
As Michigan navigates the transfer portal landscape, they continue to seek improvements and reinforcements, particularly at wide receiver. With the portal closing for the spring season soon, the Wolverines are expected to remain active in pursuing new talent to bolster their roster.
