LSU Welcomes Seven Louisiana ‘Young Heroes’
LSU warmly received seven Louisiana ‘Young Heroes’ on April 29th, recognized by Louisiana Public Broadcasting for their exceptional qualities of leadership, resilience, integrity, and community service.
Walt Holiday, the Executive Director of the LSU Cox Communications Academic Center for Student Athletes, expressed admiration for these students’ achievements and their commitment to giving back.
The Louisiana Young Heroes program, organized by LPB, celebrates outstanding young individuals who excel academically, contribute significantly through public service, overcome personal challenges, display extraordinary heroism, or inspire others with their character and deeds. This year’s cohort joins nearly 200 previous recipients of this recognition.
The young heroes began their LSU visit with a tour of the Football Operations Building, hosted by Dr. Damon Arnold and LSU Associate Head Football Coach Frank Wilson. They later visited the Governor’s Mansion downtown, enjoying an afternoon there.
Dr. Arnold remarked on the honor of hosting these young heroes, emphasizing their courage and dedication to making a difference. Coach Wilson echoed these sentiments, expressing pride in their accomplishments and the privilege of hosting them at LSU.
