Young Phenom Emerges: Rising QB Bobby Coleman Jr. Garners Attention from Powerhouse College Programs”

In Gainesville, Georgia, quarterback Bobby Coleman Jr., a rising sophomore from Phenix City (Ala.) Central, stood out as one of the top performers among a talented group of quarterbacks at the Elite 11 Atlanta regional last weekend.

“Coleman exhibits a level of maturity in his game that is uncommon for someone his age,” remarked 247Sports National Analyst Cooper Petagna. “With his ability to vary his throws, deliver precise passes, and maintain accuracy downfield, the Phenix City native possesses attributes that are exceptionally rare for his stage of development.”

Coleman, who disclosed his measurements as 5-foot-10 1/2 and 168 pounds, is the younger brother of Auburn freshman wide receiver and highly-rated prospect Cam Coleman.

Following the event on Sunday, Coleman shared his reflections with 247Sports, stating, “I felt like I gained valuable insights, learning from the coaches and my peers.”

Among the participants, only a few quarterbacks from the class of 2027 were present. Coleman expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate, saying, “It’s a great experience, and I feel blessed to be a part of it.”

Auburn, Georgia, and Texas A&M have extended scholarship offers to Coleman, who expressed interest in attending a game at the University of Georgia in the upcoming fall.

“While I’m not a huge fan of Georgia, to be honest,” Coleman chuckled, “I’ve been rooting for the Tide since I was young. But Georgia has a fantastic program with exceptional coaching staff.”

Coleman plans to attend camps at various universities, including Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, and Georgia, during the summer. Additionally, he has received interest from Michigan and North Carolina.

Although Coleman’s recruitment is still in its early stages, he is expected to attract significant attention from college programs as he progresses through his high school career.

“I’m seeking the best fit for me, where I can thrive within the offensive system and contribute effectively to the team,” Coleman explained.

Reflecting on his journey, Coleman credited his older brother for guiding him and providing insights into the world of college football.

“My brother has been instrumental in paving the way for me,” Coleman acknowledged. “Witnessing firsthand how college football operates and understanding its business aspect before embarking on the same path has been invaluable. It’s ‘War Eagle’ and ‘Roll Tide’ for him. The only time you’ll catch me saying ‘War Eagle’ is during his games.”
