Recruitment Drama: Marquise Davis Chooses Kentucky over Michigan – Ohio State Fans React

Following 4-star running back recruit Marquise Davis‘s decision to commit to Mark Stoops’ Kentucky Wildcats over Sherrone Moore’s Michigan Wolverines, fans flooded in with reactions, many of which included mocking remarks directed at Tony Alford, the recently recruited running backs coach from Ohio State. Davis, who was initially among Alford’s top targets upon his arrival at Ann Arbor, was anticipated to play a pivotal role in bolstering the Wolverines’ 2025 recruiting class.

Despite On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine favoring the Wolverines with an 89.5 percent chance of securing Davis’s commitment, he ultimately chose the Wildcats. Even Ohio State fans, who were also in contention for Davis’s commitment, couldn’t overlook the disappointment felt by their rivals.

“Michigan is losing recruiting battles to Kentucky. The fall off post Stallions is already a movie,” one Ohio State fan expressed on X.

“2025 four-star Cleveland Heights RB Marquise Davis has committed to Kentucky. Major swing and miss for Michigan, as the Wolverines had been the presumptive leader for Davis for a while. Michigan fans, welcome to the Tony Alford experience,” The Silver Bulletin noted on X.

“Michigan fans said we were coping when we told them what they were about to start experiencing. This was a can’t miss layup for them. Welcome to Tony Alford, enjoy,” remarked Brantford Winstonworth on X.

“Wow, Marquise Davis to Kentucky over Michigan when he was clearly Tony Alford’s number one running back target is too good to be true, ‘We StOlE tHeIr BeSt ReCrUiTeR.’ You guys have fun with the classic Alford plan C and D scraps, we’re cool with Jordan Davison and Bo Jackson,” shared AthletesInSpace on X.

“Michigan fans now realizing the Tony Alford effect,” observed FFBuck on X.

“Michigan beating their chest over Marquise Davis, a player OSU likes but clearly wasn’t prioritizing, is the Tony Alford experience in real time. Those crystal balls might roll in, but Tony often leaves you disappointed. Very poetic,” another Ohio State fan commented.

“LMFAOOOO TONY ALFORD STRIKES AGAIN. TTUN WHAT HAPPENED,” added another Ohio State fan.

“Man he played Michigan,” JBook reacted on X.
