21-year-old prodigy targets attainment of inaugural significant achievement.

Just seven matches after his arrival at the Hawthorn Football Club, Jack Ginnivan is poised to mark his first significant milestone with the brown and gold, the team he passionately supported in his youth. Ginnivan’s journey to Hawthorn began during last year’s trade period after spending three seasons with Collingwood.

Despite his brief tenure, the agile small forward has always held a deep affinity for the Hawks, amplifying the significance of his upcoming 50th game milestone, scheduled against the Western Bulldogs on Sunday.

In a recent interview with Triple M’s Rush Hour, Ginnivan expressed his enjoyment of his time at his new club. Reflecting on his transition, he remarked, “It’s been a crazy six months transitioning houses, clubs, making new friends and all these things, but I’m loving it to bits.”

Ginnivan’s debut in the brown and gold jersey marked a surreal moment for the young player, especially when celebrating his first victory alongside seasoned players like Jack Gunston. His childhood dream of singing the team song was finally realized, adding a layer of nostalgia to his journey.

Despite his youth, Ginnivan has already amassed notable achievements in his burgeoning four-year career. Drafted by Collingwood in the 2021 rookie draft, he quickly made an impact, culminating in his ANZAC Day Medal win in 2022 after a stellar performance against Essendon. His breakout season in 2023 saw him clinch a premiership with Collingwood.

Now an integral part of Hawthorn’s future, Ginnivan has seamlessly integrated into the team’s attack, showcasing his talent with impressive statistics this season. Averaging a career-high 13.7 disposals, nine kicks, and four marks per game, he currently ranks as the third-highest goal scorer in 2024, with eight goals under his belt.

With Ginnivan’s promising start in his new colors, Hawthorn supporters have every reason to anticipate a bright future ahead. If his initial performances are any indication, Ginnivan’s journey in the brown and gold promises to be nothing short of remarkable.
