“Auburn Tigers Turmoil: Star Player’s Transfer Portal Move Shocks Team; Incoming LB Amplifies Tension”
Former wide receiver Koy Moore, previously with LSU and Auburn football, has officially entered the transfer portal. Moore, a graduate transfer, retains one year of eligibility for his next destination. He commenced his collegiate football journey at LSU, spending two seasons with them before transferring to Auburn before the 2022 season.
During his debut season at Auburn, Moore made contributions with 20 receptions for 314 yards and one touchdown. However, he fell out of favor in 2023, notably remembered for a pivotal error during the Iron Bowl.
His participation in this year’s spring practice was hampered by injury. Moore joins Jay Fair as the second Tigers’ wide receiver to enter the transfer portal, with Fair committing to USC recently.
Meanwhile, former South Alabama linebacker Khalil Jacobs recently visited Auburn as part of his official visit. Jacobs, who had a breakout season in 2023 with 56 total tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and three forced fumbles, spent two years with the Jaguars. While Jacobs plans to finalize his decision after visiting Missouri and Alabama, Auburn has left a significant impression on him.
Jacobs expressed admiration for the environment and the people at Auburn, noting their welcoming nature. He particularly highlighted Coach DJ Durkin’s track record of guiding players to the professional level, a factor influencing his decision-making process. Jacobs emphasized his aspiration for greatness and the appeal of Auburn’s atmosphere, indicating a strong affinity for the program.
