Calgary Stampeders Add Two Receivers to Roster for Rookie Camp

The Calgary Stampeders have announced the signing of two receivers – American Erik Brooks from Fresno State and national Maxim Malenfant from the University of Ottawa. Both players are set to join the Stamps’ roster for the upcoming rookie camp, commencing on May 8 at McMahon Stadium.

Erik Brooks, hailing from Irvine, California, boasts an impressive college career at Fresno State, where he accumulated 128 catches for 1,548 yards and 10 touchdowns over 52 games.

In 2023, Brooks had a standout season, recording 60 catches for 788 yards and five touchdowns, earning him all-Mountain West Conference honorable mention recognition.

Maxim Malenfant, a native of Drummondville, Quebec, showcased his skills over four seasons at Ottawa, tallying 37 receptions for 404 yards and three touchdowns, along with contributions in kick and punt returns.

In 2023, Malenfant led the Gee-Gees with three touchdown catches and was second in receptions and receiving yards. He also holds the distinction of being a two-time U Sports academic all-Canadian.
