Syracuse Football: Excitement builds as a 4-star CB, currently with Michigan, plans an official visit to SU in June.

Four-star cornerback/athlete Dawayne Galloway Jr., hailing from Ohio and considered a consensus top-200 national prospect in the 2025 class, is preparing for an official visit to Syracuse football next month.

Despite receiving considerable attention from multiple prestigious programs, the 6-foot, 175-pound Galloway seems particularly intrigued by the Orange. However, there’s notable analyst chatter linking him to a formidable Big Ten Conference powerhouse.

As of the latest reports, Michigan, the reigning College Football Playoff national champion, has attracted at least three analyst predictions for Galloway’s recruitment, as noted by both the 247Sports website and Rivals.com.

While Michigan holds the top spot in Galloway’s recruitment at present, according to On3’s recruiting prediction model, it’s important to note that decisions in recruiting can be fluid. Galloway has upcoming official visits, including one slated for Syracuse during the weekend of June 14 to June 16.

Syracuse football faces formidable competition in their pursuit of Galloway, who has received nearly 30 offers from high-major programs throughout his recruitment process. The Orange, under the leadership of head coach Fran Brown, extended a scholarship offer to Galloway on December 20 of the previous year.

Galloway, a standout athlete at Marion-Franklin High School in Columbus, Ohio, where he also excels in track and field, revealed a top 12 list of potential destinations, including Syracuse football, in late February of this year.

He was among the many prospects who visited the SU campus during one of the Orange’s junior days in January. As of the latest rankings, Galloway is positioned at No. 108 nationally, No. 10 at cornerback, and No. 5 in Ohio according to Rivals.com.

According to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, he ranks at No. 116 overall, No. 13 at cornerback, and No. 5 in Ohio. On the On3 Industry Ranking, Galloway is listed at No. 132 nationally, No. 15 at cornerback, and No. 6 in Ohio.

Syracuse football’s 2025 recruiting class has already secured at least 18 verbal commitments, earning a top 10 ranking nationally according to both Rivals.com and the 247Sports Composite.
