Exclusive Recruiting Insights Unveiled on Day One of Texas State Track and Field Championships

The Texas state track and field meet began at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the University of Texas campus, featuring events for the 3A and 4A classifications. Some prominent football recruits attended the event, including DJ Sanders, a defensive tackle from Bellville, Texas. Sanders, who is considering Baylor, Michigan, Texas, and Texas A&M for official visits, has family ties to Michigan and Baylor, adding intrigue to his decision-making process. Despite expectations of a Texas vs. Texas A&M battle, Baylor seems to be in a stronger position than anticipated, thanks to Sanders’ cousin Richard Reese’s previous experience with the Bears. Sanders plans to make a decision between August and September.

Meanwhile, Mississippi State’s M-Club announced its 2024 Sports Hall of Fame class, which includes seven distinguished Bulldog and Lady Bulldog athletes across various sports. Among the inductees are football players Danny Knight, Floyd Womack, and Keffer McGee, baseball player Bobby Reed, softball player Iyhia McMichael, women’s basketball player Jennifer Fambrough, and tennis coach Andy Jackson. The formal induction ceremony will take place in October.
