Injury Report: Forward’s Timetable Affirmed, Newest Information on 20-Year-Old Rising Star; Defender and Midfielder Out of Action

Collingwood’s High-Performance Chief, Jarrod Wade, Provides Injury Update ahead of Sunday’s Round Nine Match against West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium.

Brody Mihocek, one of Collingwood’s top goal scorers this season, will be sidelined for two to three weeks due to a minor hamstring strain detected in scans. Despite sustaining the injury early in the last quarter of Friday’s match, Mihocek managed to continue playing, albeit with restricted movement.

Beau McCreery is undergoing the standard concussion protocols following a head injury in Friday’s victory. A progress update on his recovery will be given next week.

Young defender Tew Jiath suffered an ankle injury during Collingwood’s VFL defeat to Southport on Saturday. Although he completed the game, scans revealed a minor syndesmosis, necessitating a moonboot for a week and an anticipated absence of two to three games.

Jordan De Goey will miss the upcoming clash with West Coast due to a groin problem, the same issue that kept him out of last week’s match. He is expected to commence running towards the end of next week, with the medical team optimistic about his availability for Round 10.

Midfielder Tom Mitchell, set for a return this week, has been hospitalized with appendicitis, ruling him out for the West Coast game. Once cleared by his specialist, Mitchell will initiate a running regimen, aiming for a comeback in Round 10.

Josh Eyre continues his recovery from a hamstring injury, progressing steadily but cautiously. He is expected to increase his running speed over the next few weeks, targeting a return to full training in approximately two weeks and game time in three to four weeks.

Ruckman Oscar Steene is undergoing light rehab activities following toe ligament surgery, with another three weeks in a moon boot before resuming running activities.

Key forward Dan McStay is nearing the six-month mark post ACL surgery, undergoing reviews of his progress. He is currently maintaining his running, speed, and agility loads, with plans to progress to contact training post the milestone.
