Tiger-Cats Bolster Roster with New Signings and CFL Draft Picks Activation

The Tiger-Cats are actively fortifying their roster ahead of the training season by securing the services of several players. Recent transactions listed in the CFL include the signings of American wide receivers TJ Vasher and Dev Hamilton, American defensive lineman Marje Smith, and American defensive back Mark Milton. This comes on the heels of re-signing veteran defensive back Lawrence Woods III. Additionally, the team has finalized contracts with several of their draft selections from the 2024 CFL Draft, notably 1st round offensive lineman Nathaniel Dumoulin-Duguay.

New addition TJ Vasher, who previously played in the XFL and the UFL, arrives with a notable track record. During his tenure with the San Antonio Brahmas, he showcased his skills in nine games, accumulating 16 receptions for 173 yards and two touchdowns. His collegiate career at Texas Tech was equally impressive, with 41 games, 146 receptions, 1,983 yards, and 21 touchdowns.

Dev Hamilton, another wide receiver joining the Tiger-Cats, brings experience from his time at NCAA Division II New Haven. With 34 games played, Hamilton amassed 126 receptions for 2,257 yards and 29 touchdowns. He also showcased versatility by returning 17 punts for 281 yards and a touchdown.

Marje Smith, a defensive lineman, transitions to Hamilton following his tenure at NCAA FCS Stephen F. Austin. During his time there, Smith participated in 38 games, tallying 52 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 11 quarterback sacks, and various other defensive contributions.

Mark Milton, the newest defensive back, arrives from the Carolina Panthers in 2023, following his collegiate career at Baylor University. During his time with the Bears, Milton appeared in 51 games, registering 97 total tackles and intercepting one pass.

Moreover, the Tiger-Cats have strategically activated several of their picks from the 2024 CFL Draft, including offensive lineman Nathaniel Dumoulin-Duguay, defensive back Daniel Bell, linebacker Ryan Baker, defensive back Jonathan Giustini, offensive lineman John Kourtis, and linebacker Mitchell Townsend. These moves underscore the team’s commitment to building a strong foundation for future success.
