Utah RB Zack Moss Wows Fans with Ceremonial First Pitch, Honors Team Spirit at Cincinnati Reds Game

CINCINNATI – Former Utah Utes star and current Bengals RB Zack Moss took to the mound to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Cincinnati Reds game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Having recently signed with the Cincinnati Bengals, Moss made a memorable appearance to offer some good luck vibes at Great American Ball Park.

Despite Moss’s presence, the outcome of the game didn’t swing in favor of the Reds, who fell short with a 5-4 loss, extending their losing streak to eight games.

Presently, the Reds hold the fourth position in the NL Central with a 16-21 record.

Now that the NFL Draft is behind them, Moss and the Bengals are gearing up to improve upon their 2023 season, where they finished 9-8.

Facing challenges with injuries, the Bengals are poised for a fresh start in 2024 with a revamped backfield.

Cincinnati struggled with its rushing game last year, ranking 31st in rushing yards, 21st in yards per carry, and 19th in rushing touchdowns.

With Moss’s arrival, who amassed 794 yards and five touchdowns last season, the Bengals aim to address some of these issues.

In a separate development, former Utah Utes running back Zack Moss inked a multi-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals, as reported by ESPN and NFL Network on Monday, March 11.

The contract, valued at $8 million over two years, positions Moss to potentially assume the role of Cincinnati’s featured back following the release of running back Joe Mixon.

During his tenure with the Colts in 2023, Moss contributed to a 9-8 record, rushing for 794 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games while also securing two receiving touchdowns.

Before embarking on his NFL journey, Moss made a mark as a standout player for the University of Utah, holding numerous rushing records in the school’s football history.

Drafted by the Bills in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Moss showcased his talent with 917 rushing yards and eight touchdowns in Buffalo before being traded to the Colts in 2022.
