Winnipeg Blue Bombers Sign Defensive Lineman Jabari Ellis

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have officially added defensive lineman Jabari Ellis to their roster, as reported on the CFL Transactions page on Thursday.

Standing at six feet three inches and weighing 290 pounds, the 26-year-old hails from Vance, South Carolina. He previously spent part of the 2023 season on the Montreal Alouettes practice squad before being released on July 3, 2023.

During his tenure with Montreal in 2022, Ellis appeared in two games, recording two tackles. He initially joined the Alouettes as a free agent on September 6, 2022. Prior to his time in Montreal, Ellis signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022, but was released on July 26, 2022.

In college, Ellis showcased his talent at Georgia Military College from 2016 to 2017, accumulating 36 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, five sacks, and one pass breakup across 21 games. He then transferred to South Carolina from 2018 to 2021, where he notched 81 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and two pass breakups in 35 games, 22 of which he started for the Gamecocks.
