“Collingwood Champion Scott Pendlebury’s Future and Post-Career Plans Revealed”

This year presents a significant decision for the 36-year-old Collingwood veteran, Scott Pendlebury. The former Magpies captain is still contemplating his future beyond this season, intending to evaluate his role and standing within the club later in the year.

Pendlebury, who remains unsigned for the 2025 season, has played 392 games, trailing 40 behind the all-time games record holder, Brent Harvey. Despite his age and experience, Pendlebury continues to play a crucial role in Craig McRae’s plans for the current season, showcasing impressive statistics.

However, he is mindful not to impede the development of the club’s younger players if he decides to continue playing next year. Pendlebury emphasized the importance of making the “right call” for the team, indicating ongoing discussions with the club regarding his future role.

While Pendlebury has expressed interest in transitioning to AFL coaching post-retirement, he plans to take a break from football for a period before embarking on a coaching career. If Pendlebury achieves his 400th game for Collingwood, it is expected to occur in Round 18 against Geelong at the MCG, a milestone shared by only a handful of players in AFL history.
